Event and Organization Details

BRIDES AGAINST BREAST CANCER tour of gowns is the main fundraising event to generate funds for Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation. These gown sales are run by volunteers in metropolitan cities across the nation.

MAKING MEMORIES BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION (national non-profit parent organization) donates money to TERMINAL breast cancer patients who will not survive the disease. Wish recipients use the money to fulfill a final wish, often a trip with their family.

• Buy the perfect gown at huge savings while helping a great cause ... giving someone, one last happy memory with their loved ones

• 2010 is our third year

  • 2008 sale raised $17,000

  • 2009 South Florida sales raised $52,000 for the cause

• Gowns are sold at 25% to 75% off retail
  (Starting as low as $299)
   

• NEW wedding gowns are donated by Bridal Salons, Wedding Gown Designers & Manufacturers.
  Designers such as:  Vera Wang, Demetrios, Anjolique and many  more.

• Brides trying on gowns are assisted by local volunteers, with seamstresses on hand for alteration tips and scheduling.
   

• Also available are ... Shoes, Headpieces, Veils, Wedding Planning Tips and Consultations, and many Accessories. 
   

• Volunteers are needed for both sales click here for details
   

• A small percentage of gently used wedding gown donations are welcome but must be cleaned and are strictly scrutinized prior to to being placed on the sales floor.

More info... Local gown sales are held annually in donated ballroom space, that is converted into a gown showroom and dressing areas.  Foundation volunteers transport hundreds of gowns to each local sale. 

Money raised by the sale of gowns is used by Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation to grant final wishes to terminal stage IV breast cancer patients. The funds allow these victims the chance to escape from the brutal realities of what they suffer as they reach the end of their lives.

The poignant beauty is the symbiotic relationship between bride and patient:

the Sadness of Another Life Ending.
