South Florida BABC volunteers have a great time participating, helping brides and the organization.

There is a lot of work that has to be done! So we are always looking to add more fun-loving, good-hearted friends!

Pre Gown Sale Activities

  • planning the gown sales

    • scouting locations

    • collecting gowns

    • collecting donations

    • creating raffle prizes

  • Marketing Making Memories and the Gown Sales

    • pass out post-cards

    • attend bridal shows

    • do tv/radio interviews

    • obtain publicity

  • Setting up the gown sales

    • unloading the truck

    • placing the racks

    • unwrap gowns

    • size the gowns

    • fluff the gowns

    • dress the mannequins

    • set up the raffle area

    • set up the dressing area

    • Go out to dinner!!
At the Gown Sale - throughout the day ...
  • be on time
    • check-in
    • receive volunteer t-shirt
    • receive assignment
  • registration
    • greet brides and their friends as they arrive
    • ask them to complete form
    • sell raffle tickets
  • help brides ...
    • sort through the $500,000 inventory of donated gowns
    • try-on the gowns she has chosen
    • select the perfect veil and headpiece to go with her gown
    • select the perfect pair of shoes
    • run gowns back to the racks
  • Celebrate a great day of sales
  • Go out to dinner!!
Post Gown Sale - after the last day
  • condense gown racks
  • re-wrap the gown racks
  • load the gowns into the truck
  • Go out to dinner!!
